- If you see the option to add an eSIM, your device supports it.
Alternatively, check Samsung’s website for a list of supported devices or contact your carrier for confirmation.
(Note: Menu names might differ slightly between Samsung models, so you might see options like Mobile Networks instead of Connections.)
Setting Up Your eSIM on a Samsung Device
Here’s how to set up your eSIM once you arrive at your destination:
- Connect to a Stable Wi-Fi Network: Ensure you’re connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network, such as at the airport or hotel.
- Go to Settings > Connections > SIM Card Manager > Add eSIM > Scan QR Code.
- Use the QR code you received via email after purchasing your plan. You can either scan the code directly or upload it from your gallery.
- Tap Add and wait for the installation to complete. This can take a few minutes, so stay connected to a strong Wi-Fi network and don’t interrupt the process.
- Once installed, go back to Settings > Mobile Networks > Network Operators > eSIM and enable Data Roaming.
- Turn off your primary line (your Israeli SIM) to prevent additional charges.
- That’s it! You’re ready to use your data plan until it runs out.
When Will the eSIM Start Working?
Your eSIM will become active immediately after installation. You can start browsing the internet abroad right away. If you need more data, you can purchase and activate a new plan in the same way.
How to Disable Your eSIM After Use
To turn off your eSIM when you’re done:
- Go to Settings > Connections > SIM Card Manager > eSIM Plans > Turn Off Plan.
- Your eSIM plan will be saved on your device for future use. Remember to reactivate your regular Israeli SIM to resume receiving calls and using data at home.
Enjoy seamless internet access on your travels with eSIM!
